Breaking the Waves
Photographing the Badger coming home into Ludington never gets old. I wonder if the passengers' adrenaline rush onboard was as big as mine while making this image off the the Ludington beach?

Ice Waves
The beauty that lies within Cartier Park is one of Ludington's best kept secrets. I especially appreciate the drive along Lincoln Lake, where the view changes dramatically with the season, day, hour, and even minute. On a February day, the wind had sculpted away snow to create "waves" on top of the ice. The fragile artwork disappeared with the next snowfall, leaving only this photograph to document nature's creation.

Riding the Waves
Riding the Waves
The late afternoon sun made the Lake Michigan shoreline dance today in South Haven. I enjoyed watching this sailboat catch the wind and dart across the horizon. F22 at 1/1000, ISO 400, 70-200mm lens at 200mm

Rhythm and Waves
Living in Ludington my whole life, I have seen some pretty cool sand sculptures over the years, but this simple acoustic guitar is one of the best I have seen. Corinne Gahan and Beth Carpenter, both from Three Rivers, Michigan, built this wonderful piece of art on the shores of South Haven, Michigan earlier today. My favorite detail of their sand guitar is the seaweed they used for the strings. F13 at 1/400, ISO 100, 14-24mm lens at 14mm

Amber Waves
Amber Waves
When I see "amber waves of grain" in the American landscape, I feel blessed to live in America where we have so much farmland and an abundance of food. I appreciate Michigan farms like the Andersen farm on Andersen Road in northern Mason County. F22 at 1/30, ISO 100, 80-200mm lens at 175mm

Rolling in the Waves
Rolling in the Waves
If you look closely at this photo, you can see a tiny portion of the light blue sky showing through the other end of this giant rolling Lake Michigan wave. The wave made a complete barrel and took me with it. It was a ride that I can't wait to take again with my camera. Next time, I hope to have the Ludington Lighthouse show up in the opening of the barrel wave. F7.1 at 1/1250, ISO 400, 10-17mm lens at 10mm
