Brad Reed's Day 100 of 365
The love of driving is an inherited Reed trait that has spanned several generations. It appears that both Julia and Ethan have received those genes as well.

Lansing Luminaries
My good friend, David Seaman of the Michigan Hospital Association, has told me I need to come to Lansing to photograph the holiday tree erected in front of the Michigan State Capitol. I first try shooting from a window in David's office. But the finished image is not moving me the way it should. So I start over, this time from on the street squarely in front of the tree and the capitol. Now I am seeing an image I think makes the elegant tree and elegant building enhance each other. Thanks, David!
Tulip Time
With my Wimberley tripod head on my Gitzo tripod, I slowly panned my 600mm lens as I looked at an endless field of tulips in Holland, Michigan. I didn't push the shutter until the scene inside my viewfinder felt great. As I panned over this lone tulip I knew I had found my winning composition.

Life Leap
A Michigan steelhead leaps high in an attempt to get over a short dam on the Betsie River near Benzonia. The Betsie is among the many Michigan rivers that attract fishermen from across the country.
Sunsational
As it rises above other tulips and opens to receive more sunshine, this tulip stands out among hundreds the same color in one of the public parks in Holland, Michigan. The tulips have bloomed weeks early this year due to record warm weather in March.

St. Joseph on Ice
This icy sight greets Brad and me after a 150-mile drive to St. Joseph from Ludington on an ice-cold but sunny January 8th morning. Ice is already building up seaward from St. Joseph Lighthouse. Lake Michigan is on its way to freezing over before this winter ends.
Smile
My dad and I always shoot a lot of pictures of each other while out photographing. I got up on a hill and used my 600mm lens to get this shot of my dad with a field of tulips behind him. Holland, Michigan this time of year is a must-see. I promise it will bring a smile to your face!
