Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
Rock Symphony
Rock Symphony by Brad Reed
On October 1, 2014, after shooting fall color of the birch and maple trees at the 12 Mile Beach Campground in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, I decided to get my underwater camera out and wade into the cold and clear waters of Lake Superior. It was the most lucrative 10 minutes of my life. I made several great selling images in those 10 minutes, including my best-selling photo of all time "Exhilarating". I love this image as much as any of the others I captured that fateful day. My camera was completely submerged under water when I tripped the shutter on this one.
Castle Color
Overnight the fall color at Miners Castle had become even more brilliant than when I scouted it out. Providing an added ingredient to the composition, a cluster of fallen leaves floated on the surface of Lake Superior. This is one of the many spectacular rocky views along some 15 miles of cliffs in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
