Brad Reed's Day 1 of 365
The first day of shooting for the 365 Project and I finally feel like I have a purpose with my shooting. With my anxiety of not knowing what our next project would be lifted, the world is instantly clearer to me and I see photos everywhere I look. I am off to photograph the Badger in a snowstorm.

First Sail
It was the first day of the 1999 sailing season for the carferry Badger. Providing a colorful sunset, it was as if nature was saluting the grand ship on her return to Ludington harbor.
Rough Riders
Like a tank on the water, Coast Guard Motor Lifeboat 44345 pounds through breaking surf. The self-righting rescue boat and her crews aided mariners in distress between Big and Little Sable Points for more than 35 years.
Mooring Glory
Bathed in evening light, a sailboat graces the east end of Pentwater Lake. The view is from Long Bridge, which links the opposite shores of the lake.
Time to Reflect
Long after it had outlived its usefulness as a boat, a rusting hulk remains in the water on tiny Fox Lake in eastern Mason County. I wonder about its history and the enjoyment it probably brought people in years past. Even though half rusted away, I find it beautiful as a still life subject.
Brad Reed's Day 5 of 365
This is one of the last old-time fishing boats still used in the Ludington area. My dad's love of old boats has been passed down to me. I love how this photograph looks like a fish's eye.

On The Hook
For years, I have enjoyed observing sailboats swinging from their mooring buoys with the wind in the harbors along the Lake Michigan shoreline. This summer night in Ludington harbor I watched the water and sky around a sailboat on the hook on Pere Marquette Lake transform from electric orange at sunset to shocking pink minutes later.
Incredible Ludington
After running as fast as I could to get to the west side of the Ludington Waterfront Sculpture Park, I turned around and this is the view that greeted me Sunday evening. For a few moments, I was so focused on the double rainbow, I didn't see the reflection of the rainbow on the water at Harbor View Marina. When I did spot it I quickly made this image, thinking the rainbow would fade away any second. I and countless others were blessed to savor it for several more minutes.
