Todd Reed's Day 60 of 365
I am running out of daylight when my 365 Picture of the Day appears right before me at the intersection of Iris Road and South Lakeshore Drive south of Ludington. To my eyes, this gated view looks heavenly.

Frankfort Glory
I am always moved when I see attractive classic church steeples. I find it especially moving today seeing the First Congregational Church in Frankfort flanked by maple trees in peak color.
Sleeping Bear Icon
One of Michigan's most impressive old barns stands out at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. People by the thousands view this barn on busy summer days. Today however, in the wake of the biggest snowfall of the winter, I am one of only a handful of passersby privileged to see it at its winter best.
Brad Reed's Day 63 of 366
Exploring the interdunal ponds at the Ludington State Park is always a fun adventure. The evening light tonight helped put life back into this scene of a dead tree.
Brad Reed's Day 60 of 365
The 365 Project is still forcing me to explore new roads and areas of my "backyard" that I have never seen. Today I took a closer look at the old elevator at the train yard in Ludington. I was greeted with magic light and a beautiful reflection.

Winter Haven
A fresh snowfall makes the historic Glen Haven Canning Co. building stand out even more than it already does along the Lake Michigan shoreline at Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Autumn Tapestry
The rich crimson color of these maple leaves stood out in the forest like colorful jewels when I discovered them from afar on the Piney Ridge Trail on a mid-October morning. As the leaves drew me closer, I was also drawn to the beautiful patterns the red leaves and dark branches made against the backdrop of green leaves not yet turned color.
Todd Reed's Day 61 of 365
The light has been great since before sunrise today and I have made several good images already. Now at 4:00 P.M. I see the most unique view I have discovered today. Never pass up a good cloud; this one looks delicately different.

Farming History
I have now photographed this old McCormick Deering tractor in all four seasons. My dad and I got to meet the family that owns this tractor and the farm it sits on near the Sleeping Bear Dunes. This tractor is a great piece of Michigan history!
Rock Art
The ice has melted today on the Lake Michigan shoreline at Glen Haven. I hike back and forth along the rocky shore in search of the most colorful interesting rock I can find. This one is it; now for just the right moment with a wave washing over and swirling around it.
Brad Reed's Day 61 of 365
This morning I photographed the old clothing factory on Whittier Street in Ludington and made three photographs of pigeons flying out of the abandoned elevator shaft. Every single person on Facebook that responded picked this photograph as his or her favorite.

Ice Spirit
Looking like a sun worshipper, the face of a giant ice formation juts toward the sun along the Lake Michigan shoreline at Ludington State Park. The nature-made ice sculpture warms my heart on an ice-cold day. The beauty I find at almost every turn during winter in Michigan gives me a sunny attitude.
Glen Haven
Boldly beautiful; that is my response to the restored exterior of the historic Glen Haven Canning Co. building at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. A view through one of the many windows gives a glimpse of the equally restored interior that now serves as a maritime museum.
Todd Reed's Day 62 of 365
On my way to West Shore Community College, I cannot pass up taking a closer look at the frosty branches along the Pere Marquette River. I know it won't get any better than this today. I like the S-curves and dynamic angles of this branch. I like the matching repetitive pattern of the background branches that I keep out of focus to create layers.

Halfway to the Pole
A motorist reaches the 45th parallel while northbound on M22 along Grand Traverse Bay between Suttons Bay and Omena. I am glad to also be heading north on this glorious autumn morning in Northern Michigan.
Zig Zag
We love including diagonal lines and shapes in our photographs. Angles were everywhere as the ice was breaking up on a sunny March afternoon on Betsie Bay in Frankfort, Michigan.
