Nature Force
This white robin appeared in my friend Curtis Haynes's yard two days after his mom passed away this winter. The beautiful rare bird has been hanging out every day with the other robins in the area. My dad and I enjoy making environmental portraits of animals.
Nature's Prayer
The Hartwick Pines State Park is one of Michigan's best-kept secrets. Located near Grayling, the park is full of pine trees that are several hundred years old. The park also has a log cabin style chapel that is open year round. With no electricity or heat, the chapel is often fairly dark inside and also cold in the winter. With my camera on a tripod, I overexposed this image to blow out the highlights so the cross would appear to be glowing. I also used my external flash to light up the Nature's Prayer below the cross.
One with Nature
Deer are one animal that you can count on seeing during almost every visit to the Ludington State Park. I made this photograph deep in the park just off the Coast Guard Trail.
Natures Encore
When a storm front sails ashore from Lake Michigan, I not only enjoy shooting the bad side of the storm but the bright side that so often follows. I arrive home on the Lake Michigan shoreline just in time to scamper to my second-story deck to catch the rainbow over the Buttersville Peninsula south of Ludington.

Natures Bling
The word swamp does not have a good connotation for a lot of people. But those who venture into one of Michigan's many swamps and marshes have the opportunity to discover plenty of beauty. This swamp bling catches dew, sunlight, and my eye.

Nature's Bouquet
It is hard to beat Michigan wildflowers and bright blue skies that are full of giant white billowy clouds. My job today as an outdoor photographer was to find the flowers and line up all of the beautiful elements together in one photograph. The old abandoned shale quarry near Alpena, Michigan was the perfect setting.

Nature Lovers
For several minutes I watched this 12-point whitetail buck chase this doe all over the woods. She finally stopped and he caught up to her.
