Deadman's Hill
Northern Michigan scenic vista views abound. What impressed me most about the bird’s eye view from Deadman’s Hill was the wide range of colors apparent on this mid-October day. I look forward to returning to this marvelous spot in Mackinaw State Forest near Elmira
Sun Ride
Like cowboys riding into the sunset, bicyclists ride toward the sun on the Ludington waterfront on a splendid September evening.
Todd Reed's Day 270 of 365
With his trusty retriever Kelly II serving as bow lookout, Dick Underwood navigates through the early morning fog to another fishing spot on Pere Marquette Lake. Dick is one of those diehard anglers I admire because they are not just fair weather fishermen.

Reflections of Bond Falls
In the fall of 2013 Todd and Debbie Reed, Brad and Betsy Reed, Sarah Genson and I headed north on a shooting adventure. After a long day of traveling on our way to the Porcupine Mountains, starting off with a trip across Lake Michigan on the SS Badger, and a drive through Wisconsin, we stopped at Bond Falls to shoot, arriving at sunset. It was incredibly beautiful and we had great light. After getting the shots they wanted, most of the group headed back to the car, and Sarah and I weren't far behind, when we were stopped by this scene. We stayed behind for one last shot. It was worth it!!
Heavenly Revelation
On the walk back from Big Sable Point Lighthouse around 12:40am on Sunday, May 12th, my dad, Ethan, and I turned around and finally saw the northern lights show we had been waiting for all evening. The pillars shot straight up from the ground to above our heads. It was unbelievably bright and visible to the naked eye. Of course, the camera sees the colors even better than we do. This shot was just before the pillars shrank and disappeared. This is my dad’s photograph.
Quillis
My good friends, Joe and Tracy Cooper, had put a photo on Facebook yesterday of a porcupine that was hanging out in their front yard. I contacted Tracy and asked if I could come over and photograph it with my big camera. After I got her permission, my daughter Julia and I drove to their home south of Ludington and found "Quillis" chilling and eating some apples. It was raining and very windy outside, but this little guy didn't seem to be bothered by anything. Julia and I had a blast photographing him.

Sunday With Dottie
This deer's for you, mom! While taking my mother on a Sunday drive at Ludington State Park, we were remembering all the great picnics and Michigan outdoors beauty our family had enjoyed together at the park while growing up. On our way out, we got a beautiful look at a deer looking for a drink of water.
