Nothing Miner Here
Nothing Miner Here
I had planned a weekend trip to Munising, to travel and shoot the surrounding area waterfalls. While the weather was challenging for most of the trip because of down pouring rain, it helped bring out the intense green that only a spring rain can do! Miners falls had been on my bucket list to visit, and I had finally made the journey. Upon my arrival, I quickly realized that there was nothing Miner about it! Now, it is one of my favorite falls to visit. The hike through the woods to get to the falls is incredible in itself.

Driving towards Ludington this morning, I knew that I had missed the color that the sunrise brought, but the clouds in the sky were superb! With the calm morning, they would reflect in the water. I headed towards the Pere Marquette River Flats to quickly compose my shot. I didn’t know that Brad had shot near here almost an hour earlier. Such beauty in God’s work!

I have shot a handful of bald eagles in my years of photography. To make three images including eagles within 35 days of shooting our 366 Project was almost comical to me. The light on this eagle’s wings was too magical to pass up.

My daughter, Kasey, loves to cook and bake. For Christmas I gave her a crêpe cooking class at Brown Butter Crêperie and Café for the two of us. As we pulled up to the charming restaurant, I was already composing the image I wanted to capture. Thankfully the street wasn’t too busy!

I was having a difficult time finding a photo today. Some days are harder than others. Out on a drive, this domestic goose crossed my path.

I grew up with orchards, flowering bushes, and gardens surrounding our farmhouse. I was fortunate to purchase a home that also has apple trees and several flowering bushes in the yard. This is one of my favorites.

I was attracted to the ice formations in the Ludington Municipal Marina when the reflected clouds composed my shot before my eyes.
