My backyard is full of wildflowers. The kids and I love exploring each and every one. Today, these vetch plants stood out to me.

In a small ravine on our property, dame’s rocket grows brilliantly. They can be considered invasive, but for me, they are stunning.

I surprised the kids with a firepit for the backyard this weekend. We lit it and to our surprise, it showed its love for us with a heart!

So many wishes have been made over the years. As I blew these dandelion seeds into the wind after making this photo, another wish was made.
Rachel Gaudette's Day 157 of 366 - June 5, 2020
I could see the makings of a shelf cloud over Lake Michigan, so I headed to the lakeshore from work. As I was making several images of the small cloud, I could see a paddle boarder coming my way. I thought he was very brave! I waited until he was in front of me and had the paddle in a position I wanted. Thanks to social media, later I was able to find out who he was and give him a free print!

After dinner at Brad’s house, the kids played there while I ran to the Sauble River outlet to shoot the sunset. I liked seeing the different variety of waves lapping to shore.

The kids and I took a drive around the farm with my mom and dad tonight. I have always enjoyed the shape of this tree. In the far background, you can see our barn and farmhouse. It is a picture-perfect setting.

My mom’s yellow roses climb the wall of the farm’s garage. Each year we welcome their sight. I hope to transplant some of them to our home soon.

After a dinner with family visiting from Cleveland, I noticed tiny daisies in the yard of their vacation home. It was covered in them! I crawled around until I saw a perspective I liked.

Kasey made this circular design out of putty. I liked the different shades and shapes. I knew before making this image at home tonight that I would make it into a black-and-white image for my photo of the day.
Rachel’s Day 163 of 366 - June 11, 2020
The kids and I drove with my dad to the front field looking for a jack-in-the-pulpit that he had seen earlier in the week. Unfortunately, it was past its prime. On our way back, a shelf cloud rapidly came upon us. I asked my dad to get us back to the farm as fast as he could. I knew the spot I needed to be to capture the massive cloud over the farmhouse and maples. We don’t typically get shelf clouds that big this far inland. It was fun to witness!

The Father Marquette Cross, recently repaired and re-erected, looks glorious today!
Rachel Gaudette's Day 165 of 366 - June 13, 2020
While working up part of our garden at home, one of my nieces came across this nest in the ground. I carefully made my photo, and then we left the area in peace. You never know what you will find by getting outside.

David Benjamin had been looking forward to his First Communion for months! Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we had to cancel the original Mass. Father planned this special Mass just for them and a small gathering of family members. He was very excited to have his special day! This image of my mom and dad, along with David Benjamin was a heartwarming photo to make.
Rachel Gaudette's Day 167 of 366 - June 15, 2020
Brad and I took a quick trip to visit his mom, Kay, in Tennessee. She has several flower gardens around her house. This one stood out above the rest.
Rachel Gaudette's Day 168 of 366 - June 16, 2020
This cardinal fluttered about above us in Kay’s backyard for most of the afternoon. He was quick, and only paused for a split second here. We enjoyed his company.
Rachel Gaudette's Day 169 of 366 - June 17, 2020
Kay, Brad, and I took a walk along the Cumberland Riverwalk in Clarksville today. We shared lots of stories and laughter. This blooming bush was too lovely to pass! I knew it had to be my photo of the day.
Rachel Gaudette's Day 170 of 366 - June 18, 2020
On our way back from Clarksville, we stopped at the St. Joseph lighthouse. I have only photographed this lighthouse covered in ice. It looked very different on this warm June day!
Rachel Gaudette's Day 171 of 366 - June 19, 2020
I never get tired of my backyard view. The late afterglow allowed for a simple silhouetted framing.
Rachel Gaudette's Day 172 of 366 - June 20, 2020
A pontoon ride with Todd and Debbie for an early Father’s Day celebration on Hamlin Lake was just what we needed today! I don’t get to explore the dunes as much as I would like. It was fun to visit one of Todd’s favorite spots to photograph with him today.
