The clouds were spectacular today and the sunlight danced off the bright blue sky creating the perfect backdrop for almost any subject. I choose to make Little Sable Point Lighthouse the star of my photograph. F16.0 at 1/250, ISO 100, 18-50 mm lens at 20 mm

I had previsualized my shot for tonight days before I clicked the shutter. I knew I wanted to include both the Little Sable Point Lighthouse and Comet NEOWISE in my shot. The colorful afterglow was an added bonus!

Waiting until after midnight so Rachel and I could shoot our next photos of the day for our 366 Project was a great decision. We were blessed to not only be able to shoot photos that had the Comet NEOWISE and the Milky Way in them with Little Sable Point Lighthouse, but also the Northern Lights! It was an extraordinary night along the Lake Michigan shoreline near the Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

October is the time for drama on the Lake Michigan shoreline. This afternoon I am so glad I made the decision to head to Little Sable Point to try to catch a peak moment of light, clouds and waves at the historic lighthouse. F4.5 at 1/800, ISO 100, 12-24 mm lens at 19 mm

Little Sable Point Lighthouse reminds me of a poem today. There is a perfect rhythm to the dune grass, clouds, beach and waves. At the heart of the poem is the grand old lighthouse. Photography is all about feeling and Little Sable Point feels perfect today. F14 at 1/100, ISO 100, 14-24mm lens at 14mm

I always tell people to bundle up and head for a Great Lakes shoreline in late autumn. The views can be as exhilarating as the crisp temperatures and breeze. I am not even thinking about being cold as I experience this view while hiking between Silver Lake Outlet and Little Sable Point Lighthouse. F11 at 1/640, ISO 100, 14-24mm lens at 14mm
