Nothing looks or feels more awesome than a gale-force storm on Lake Michigan. My son Willie and I watched this February storm for several hours, shooting shots periodically during lulls in a blizzard but knowing that the magic light-if it came-would appear shortly before sunset when the sun often breaks out from beneath the clouds in the western sky and backlights the waves and the Ludington lighthouse. Our patience was rewarded when, for a few glorious minutes, magic light and Lake Michigan's fury coincided.
